Concordia Lutheran
Concordia Lutheran Church, 1431 Sixth St., will host the Rev. James Fundum, admissions counselor at Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, Indiana, to teach the 9 a.m. adult Bible class and the 10:15 worship service Sunday, when he will preach on “washed in preparation for sacrifice” from the first chapter of Mark. The service will include communion. A special congregational meeting will follow to move forward on calling a permanent pastor. The young adult class will meet at 6 p.m. Monday at George House, 1041 N. Main St., under the leadership of Elder Greg Cole. The church has handicap access and parking at the north entrance. First Lutheran
First Lutheran Church, 109 E. Lincoln St., will host this week’s community dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday. The menu will feature a New Year’s casserole with pork and sauerkraut, green beans, fresh fruit, homemade salads and desserts. The Martha and Rachel circles will meet at 9 and 9:30 a.m., respectively, on Tuesday. The church will host a deaf worship at 12:30 p.m. in the newly refurbished lounge.

BENTON RIDGE — Liberty-Benton and Cory-Rawson school district residents may register for food boxes by calling Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, 419-859-1234, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday. If calling outside these hours, leave a voice mail recording which includes your name and phone number, and someone will return the call as soon as possible. Reserved boxes will be available for pickup between 9:30 and 10 a.m. Jan. 20 at the church, 119 W. Main St., Benton Ridge. Those receiving boxes must bring a photo ID and proof of address.
