The Lady Cyclones got in a hole early couldn’t dig themselves out.
The Ottawa High School girls basketball team fell Friday 51-21 at home against Paola in the first game back from winter break.
Ottawa struggled to keep pace early on, falling behind 13-1 at the end of the first quarter, and 20-3 midway through he second. The team was down 24-7 at halftime, and, despite scoring 10 points in the third, couldn’t make a dent in the Lady Panther lead.
Amanda Wray, senior guard, and Riley Titus, freshman forward, had six points each to lead Ottawa in scoring.
Ottawa is set to play Tuesday at Baldwin in Baldwin City.
