Indore: Crime Round Up: Man robbed of Rs 1.56L

Indore: A case was registered against an unidentified person for robbing a man of Rs1.56 lakh in Khajrana area on Thursday. According to police, complainant Rakesh Khantal, a resident of Tilak Nagar alleged that he was returning from Bhopal and took an auto-rickshaw near Radisson Square on late Wednesday night.

As the victim stopped the autorickshaw near the City Bus Depot close to MR9 Square, an unidentified biker attacked him on his chest, causing the victim to fall unconscious, police said. However, when Rakesh gained consciousness he found that Rs 1.56 lakh were missing from his pocket. Police are searching for the biker as well as the auto-rickshaw driver and are also examining CCTV footage of the area to identify the accused.

Advocate shot


A 45-year-old advocate was shot by some unidentified persons over suspected rivalry in Janki Nagar area on Friday morning. According to police, victim Suraj Yadav, a resident of Patnipura was on his way to take money from a person when some unidentified persons shot and injured him. The victim was rushed to MY Hospital for treatment by his friend and is undergoing treatment.

Woman thrashed by husband

Police booked a man for thrashing his wife over suspicion of infidelity at Maruti Palace Colony on Thursday late night. According to police, victim Urmila Uikey alleged that she works at the canteen of MY Hospital and her husband Prakash, who was drunk, was abusing her suspecting her moral character. As the victim tried to stop him the accused attacked her with a wooden stick causing severe injuries to her head.

Man booked for ATM fraud

Police booked a person for duping a man of Rs 12,000 in Annapurna area on Thursday. According to police, complainant Santosh Tanwar alleged that he received a phone call asking for his ATM card and PIN details following which he was duped of Rs 12,000 on February 2017. Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim received a phone call asking for details and the number was registered in name of Kannu Rawani, a resident of Silvassa in Daman. Police have registered a case against the accused under IT Act and are investigating the incident.
