Preparations have begun in the district of Mayurbhanj for the State-level Brahmin conference which is going to be held at Udala, 43 km from here, on January 28. Preparatory meetings have already been held at Baripada, Rairangpur, Udala and Karanjia for the purpose.
The much-discussed-about conference is scheduled be inaugurated by Brahmin leaders in the Sri Jagannath Temple premises. All efforts are being made to make the proposed conference an all-round success, according to Mayurbhanj District Brahmin Mahasabha leader Achyuta Prasad Mohapatra.
Some concrete plans for the development and upliftment of poor Brahmin boys and girls would also be finalised, the Brahmin Mahasabha sources said.
