Two men arrested after carjacking, police chase in NW Calgary

Two men were arrested early this morning after a carjacking and police chase through northwest Calgary. 

Calgary police say at about 5 a.m. Saturday, two men allegedly approached a vehicle stopped at the intersection of Country Hills Boulevard and Edgepark Boulevard and ordered the driver out of his truck at gunpoint.

Police say the two men fled the scene in the stolen truck and were driving erratically, at times swerving into oncoming traffic, through northwest Calgary.

Police said when officers attempted to stop the vehicle on 14 Street and 5 Avenue, the driver rammed the truck into police cars and continued to flee. 

Police continued in pursuit, and stopped the vehicle on the 1400 block of 14 Avenue. 

Two men were arrested and charges are pending.
