Srinagar, Jan 6: Six person were killed and 15 others were left injured after a mini bus rolled down a gorge near Kaua village in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir. The mishap happened on Udhampur-Ramnagar Road. The injured have been rushed to nearby hospital and the rescue operation is underway.
The incident comes a few hours after an avalanche swept away a tourist vehicle in Kupwara district near Sadhna Top. Eight bodies have been recovered while two persons are still missing. Search and rescue operation is underway in the region.
Nine persons, including six tourists, were reported missing after the cab they were travelling in was swept away by an avalanche in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Friday.
On December 12, 2017, three soldiers had gone missing in Gurez when a snow avalanche hit their picket. Two bodies were recovered from the Gurez sector of the Line of Control (LoC) in Bandipora, while one was recovered from Nowgam sector of Kupwara, days later.
