CORONATION Street fans said goodbye to a big character tonight.

Luke Britton (Dean Fagan) finally realised that Pat Phelan (Connor McIntyre) had done something sinister to his friend Andy Carver (Oliver Farnworth).

The pair ended up in a violent showdown as Phelan tried to kill Luke with a brick, but Luke fought back and knocked Phelan unconscious.
