NFL playoffs: Wild Card weekend final thoughts | Andy Reid, Matt Ryan ditch postseason demons?

The regular season is in the books, and for many teams, the real season is about to get underway -- the 2018 NFL Playoffs.

Wild Card weekend kicks off with four very intriguing games, as some feel the teams playing this weekend in the NFC are better than the teams that earned a bye week, and in the AFC, the Kansas City Chiefs look to keep their hot streak going against a young and talented Tennessee Titans team.

Who will advance into the divisional round? Here are some final thoughts and bold predictions for the Kansas City Chiefs vs. the Tennessee Titans, the Atlanta Falcons vs. the Los Angeles Rams, the Buffalo Bills vs. the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Carolina Panthers vs. the New Orleans Saints.

For Eagles fans, the playoffs will kickoff with a very familiar face plastered on their television -- Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid.

Reid, who coached the Eagles from 1999-2012, salvaged the Chiefs' season this year by coaching them to four wins in their final four games and capturing the AFC West crown.

Winning in the regular season, however, has never been an issue for Reid -- it is the postseason where he has struggled. Facing a young and talented Tennessee Titans team, Reid will have his handful in the first round.

HOW FAR AWAY IS PATRICK MAHOMES?

The Chiefs will start quarterback Alex Smith on Saturday against the Titans, but the question is, will he finish?

Rookie quarterback Patrick Mahomes showed plenty of playmaking ability in his lone start this season, and you have to wonder if things get ugly early in Kansas City, if Reid would be open to making a change.

Mahomes's numbers in his first start -- 22-of-35 for 284 yards and one interception last week -- don't jump off the page, but if the Chiefs need a spark on offense, Mahomes might be the answer.

MARCUS MARIOTA

Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota did not have the season many expected in 2017. In a pass-happy league, it is hard for a quarterback to play 15 games and still throw more interceptions than touchdowns. That is exactly what Mariota accomplished, however, throwing 15 interceptions to just 13 touchdowns, a staggering stat for a quarterback that was once the No. 2 overall pick.

Mariota has a chance to put that all behind him, however, with a win on Saturday. Elite quarterbacks step their game up in the playoffs, and if he beats the Chiefs, he will be right back in the conversation as one of the best young quarterbacks in the NFL.

BOLD PREDICTION FOR TITANS VS. CHIEFS

BOLD PREDICTION: Playmaker Tyreek Hill has a rushing, receiving and special teams touchdown.

WINNER: Chiefs
