Bhopal: Marching orders to state BJP prez & GS after bypoll?

Bhopal: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is likely to call shots in BJP regarding assembly elections scheduled at the end of the year. Decision on state BJP head’s successor and replacement of state general secretary Suhas Bhagat may be taken in upcoming meetings at Ujjain and Vidisha. However, the decision would be implemented only after the upcoming bypollsRashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is likely to call shots in BJP regarding assembly elections scheduled at the end of the year.

Decision on state BJP head’s successor and replacement of state general secretary Suhas Bhagat may be taken in upcoming meetings at Ujjain and Vidisha. However, the decision would be implemented only after the upcoming bypollsParty’s national president Amit Shah attended RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s meeting at Ujjain on Friday. Party’s state unit’s coordination meeting is scheduled at Vidisha on January 10.

Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan along with select ministers and state –level office-bearers will attend the meeting.During the meeting, RSS leaders will hold one-to-one meeting with senior party leaders to chalk out poll strategy in state. Sources did not rule out possibility of current state party chief and organization general secretary getting marching order. In fact, the RSS is the deciding factor in changing organization general secretary.

Party’s state in-charge Vinay Sahastrabudhey has already been appointed president of Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR). Names of Arun Singh and Bhupendra Yadav are doing the rounds as his replacement. Speculations about state president Nandkumar Singh Chouhan’s future are doing the rounds. Sources said that RSS functionaries may discuss Nandkumar’s successor with the chief minister during these meetings.

Lack of cohesion is quite evident in party’s state unit

Working style of Suhas Bhagat, who has been appointed as state general secretary, has not gone down well with party organisation. His replacement too may come up for discussion in RSS meet. Bhagat is likely to be sent back to RSS and replaced by some other leader.Following Bhagat’s failure, there is also a possibility that RSS may decide to clip his wings. Sources claimed that party’s national leadership was quite sore with Bhagat.
