Sioux Falls Shooting, The Woman Who Called 911

Erika Tordsen reports:
An early Friday morning shooting in a north central Sioux Falls neighborhood has left community members and police with questions.

Pam Scovell and her boyfriend Eshete Megosha heard the gun shots, looked out and saw one body not moving and the other moaning. She knew right away what it was and called 911.

It's a morning they won't soon forget.

"I hear this bam, bam, bam," said 911 caller, Pam Scovell.

Pam Scovell and her boyfriend Eshete Megosha, were awakened by gunshots around 5:30 AM. They got up only to see something that will be burned in their mind forever.

"I happened to look out, kind of wish I didn't." she said. "I seen the one gentlemen that was already dead and had blood coming from his head, it was already pooled. So how long they'd been laying there, not 100% sure," said Scovell.

The couple lives in the building where the shooting happened.  She called 911 and police showed up within minutes. Megosha has lived in the neighborhood for more than 10 years and says this is the first time he's seen something like this happen.

"Most of them have families and stuff like that and kids running outside in the summertime, kids going inside and out but I don't see any bad things or stuff like that," said Megosha.

Now Scovell says not only will the memory replay in her mind but also the noises she heard.

"I heard the other gentleman kind of moaning the sound that he was making... that's just going to be in the back of my head I'm sure for awhile," said Scovell.

Even though a tragedy like this happened right outside of their home Scovell and Megosha say they love where they live.

"I've been here for about 4 or 5 months now and I like this neighborhood a lot," said Scovell
