Mumbai: A major fire broke out at Cinevista studio on LBS Marg at Gandhi Nagar Junction in Mumbai’s Kanjurmarg area on Saturday evening.

The fire was reported around 8 pm. Seven fire engines and six water tankers have been rushed to the spot, officials said. Located in a five acre property, the studio has over 30 shooting locations.

This comes just days after a massive blaze claimed the lives of 14 people in the Kamala Mills compound, and another one in Andheri that claimed the lives of four people.

According to sources, the flames have been confined to the electric wiring and the studio instruments in an area of 3000 square feet.

The studio is owned by Prem Kishen, son of erstwhile actor Premnath. The shooting for TV serial, Bepanah, was underway when the fire started, it is learnt. While no has been reported injured, sources said that a lot of property has been damaged.
