Coronation Street fans outraged at Pat Phelan continuity error: 'Ruined the story now'

CORONATION Street viewers were not happy with villain Pat Phelan tonight.

After a dramatic confrontation with Luke Britton (Dean Fagan), Phelan tried to do away with Luke to stop his murderous secret escaping.

After Phelan hit him Luke over the head with a rock, Luke fought back and knocked Phelan out, leaving him face up on the floor.

But fans were left confused after Phelan seemed to move himself despite being unconscious.

Seconds after being seen face up, Phelan was then seen looking to his left as fans saw him open his eyes.

They took to social media to point out the continuity error.

One posted: "Phelan was on his back & woke up on his side."

TERRIFIED: Luke realised what Phelan had done after he attacked him

Another added: "Phelan was on his back, and next scene was suddenly turned onto his side. Continuity issue there Corrie?"

A third chipped in: "How did a passed out Phelan move from his front to onto his side fns?"

A fourth wrote: "This Pat Phelan is ruined for me, it just makes no sense."

KILLED OFF: Luke was killed off in a fiery explosion

Meanwhile, fans were left devastated when Phelan managed to kill Luke off.

He caught up with him in a road race before shooting him through the windscreen.

In a dramatic conclusion, Phelan then blew up Luke's car, meaning there was no chance of survival.
