Tiffany Ezell Rivera: Since Louisiana comes in at No. 1 with the highest combined state and local sales tax rates, why is that not already enough? Our roads are still bad, our schools are still bad, but our politicians live in nice houses, drive really nice cars (on the bad roads) and will have a pretty good pension when they retire. Meanwhile, my grandkids will probably pay a toll to cross this bridge when they have grandchildren.

Andrealique Dobson Cheramie: Hopefully they will choose to work somewhere else and use a nicer beach somewhere else.

Tim Scott: It's already hard on folks who make minimum wage who have to cross it daily. When will the state increase the minimum wage?

Kenny Sims: Why can't the person increase their own minimum wage? Expand your skill set, get another job, etc.

Walter Moreau: I see your logic, Kenny, and I agree. But when work is scarce, you take what you can get. Not everybody has that luxury.

Clarence Denenea: When will we as citizens start voting for the ones who will stop taking our money and get things done. Did you know we already pay road tax? And now we’re paying tolls because the ones voted into office take our money instead of doing things that need to get done.

Jesse Billiot: We all know this is a money grab, right? It is not an "expressway" when it is the only way. This is very disgusting.

Andrealique Dobson Cheramie: Agreed.

Roach Folse: No doubt. Broke state. Not bad enough our tax money paid for the bridge already. It’s sad, I tell you.

Engel Schmidt: This is bad fiscal government. Someone should investigate, and I bet there will be dirty hands behind it.

Andrealique Dobson Cheramie: My husband and I have been saying that.

Peggy Cheramie: We have to pay for the new addition that they’re adding to the bridge

Andrealique Dobson Cheramie: They need to dig into their own pockets and leave the hard-working people alone

Peggy Cheramie: So true. But this is Louisiana for you. They are greedy.

Louis Primeaux: Just think how much it will go up when the port authority takes over.

Errol Jon Portier: Still cheaper than a pack of cigarettes; yet y'all don't complain because they cost so much.

Andrealique Dobson Cheramie: Sorry, but we don’t smoke. Can’t afford the toll, much less cigarettes. And we don’t drink, either.

Errol Jon Portier: Hopefully y'all choose to work somewhere else and avoid the toll.

Levurn Charpentier: Why it is never enough? They must think people have a boatload of money.

Myles Barr: But we always have money for war.

Melissa Richoux Randall: Working people and residents should not have to pay.

Warren Montet: We buy and build a bridge that we own, with our money, then we have to pay to cross it?

Clarence Denenea: They just had a sign for lower fares. I guess that wreck last week changed that.

Glenn A Pitre Sr.: That bridge should be paid for by now.

Doug Gann: Shocker.

William Gregg: Why does a dually cost more. Just for having two more tires on the back?

Caine Wolford: I asked the same thing couldn't get an answer

Clarence Denenea: I believe due to the load they could be hauling with no trailer.

Inside Pooda's Brain: Cha-ching! Someone needed a raise.

Cody Hudson: Doesn’t surprise me.
