5 killed, 2 missing as 2 avalanches hit north Kashmir

At least five people have lost their lives while two are still missing after two snow avalanches hit the Sadhana Top area of Tangdhar in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district. A passenger vehicle was swept away by one of the avalanches and seven people went missing. The authorities today confirmed that five dead bodies have been recovered including that of senior ‘beacon’ officer of the Border Roads Organisation. While two people have been rescued alive, two are still buried under tons of snow.
