People traveling between Mysuru and Chennai in Shatabdi Express train will get to experience the comfort similar to flying in an aircraft as the train is getting a facelift with swanky coaches and modern amenities under the ‘Swarn’ project of the Indian Railways.
According to sources from the South Western Railway (SWR), the superfast Shatabdi Express train plying between Mysuru junction and Chennai Central via Bengaluru will be ready with the new comforts to passengers from March 2018.
Following the launch of the Swarn project by the Indian Railways, two premier trains including the Shatabdi Express and the Rajdhani Express were enlisted for a make-over. “As per the project now, the Shatabdi Express train that runs between Chennai and Mysuru will be equipped with state-of-the-art amenities viz., LED lights, Braille signage, HD Wi-Fi, maintenance lock for toilets and CCTV cameras at the coach entrance. The coach exteriors and entrance will sport new looks with Vinyl wrapping” confirms an official source. Read More…
