Haryana Roadways employees protest at all depots

Haryana roadways employees unions on Friday observed two hours strike across the state against Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Bill 2017.

The roadways employees protested against the Bill in all depots of Haryana roadways.

Senior union leaders Inder Singh Bhadana, Virendra Dhankar and Sarbat Singh Punia in the joint statement said that the Government has already passed this bill in the Lok Sabha. After the bill gets passed in Rajya Sabha, the new law will be cleared for the privatization of the roadways departments of all the States across the country.

The Central Government will have the right to grant long route private route permits from one State to another, and thousands of route permits will be given to private operators, they said.

There is also a provision to give all the Government workshops to the private companies. With the passing of this bill, privatization of the Government transport service will result in huge loss to employees, labourers and the general public, they alleged.
