Kala Utsav, the national-level festival of art, will come to an end today after it began four days ago. During the festival at the Regional Institute of Education (RIE) campus at Bhopal, the children from all across the country have showcased their artistic talent in the field of music, theatre, dance, visual arts and crafts , with the theme ‘Ek Bharat Sreshtha Bharat’ in focus.
The valedictory function will be held on Saturday at 10.30 am wherein Union Minister of State for Human Resource Development Upendra Kushwaha will give awards to the winning teams. The ceremony will also be attended by Sri Anil Swarup, Union Secretary, School Education and Literacy and Prof HK Senapaty, Director, National Council of Educational Research and Training.
On Friday, students from Gujarat performed Suva dance of Chhattisgarh, team from Bihar performed Hojagiri dance of Tripura, Jharkhand presented folk dance of Goa, Assam did Rang Rangilo Rajasthan, Himachal performed Thiruvathira Kali (a folk dance of Kerala) and Uttar Pradesh presented Lok Nryat of Arunachal Pradesh. Such performances of dance of some distant land by these students were truly in the spirit of Ek Bharat Sreshtha Bharat.
In Music, students from Nagaland, Puducherry, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Talangana, Tripura, Meghalaya and West Bengal presented their music forms of their respective states in the festival today. Students from Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu, Goa, Jammu Kashmir, Karnataka and Mizoram showcased their dramatic talent.
