That’s according to Spanish journalist Rafael Hernandez.
Speculation surrounding Coutinho’s future dominated headlines throughout the summer and Barca were desperate to bring him in at the start of the season.
But Liverpool held firm and rejected all advances, despite the 25-year-old submitting a transfer request.
The Catalan giants have patiently waited for the January transfer window and are set to launch a £140m bid, with the club hoping to announce the deal as early as Monday.
Barcelona’s likely line-up if Philippe Coutinho joins this month

“Coutinho and Mina will be signed in the coming days. Arthur discarded for now, club might come back for him this summer.”

Coutinho believes he’s played his last game for the club and Jurgen Klopp has reportedly been looking at replacements, including Riyad Mahrez and Thomas Lemar.
And according to Hernandez, Barca fans don’t have long to wait, as they’re set to complete the Coutinho deal, as well as the signing of Palmeiras defender Yerry Mina.
He tweeted: “Coutinho and Mina will be signed in the coming days. Arthur discarded for now, club might come back for him this summer.”
Barcelona were also expected to make an approach for Gremio starlet Arthur Melo, but they appear to have cooled their interest.
