In regard to the idea of a cable car between the Pro Football Hall of Fame and downtown Canton, would it not be prudent to establish something downtown to draw interest first? Could we expand on the Hall and establish the Black College Football Hall of Fame downtown in a separate building? The College Hall of Fame has moved around over the years, why not try to land that downtown, too? It would be great to have all three halls in Canton.
And please, let’s forget about the cable car. That is archaic. Why not develop an autonomous transportation system, a self-driving car system, between these attractions? That way, for a nominal amount, visitors could choose between unlimited tourist sites in the area, the halls, the car museum, the McKinley Monument and museum and of course all the great restaurants Canton has to offer. That’s cutting edge.
Could be an opportunity to get a grant for such a transportation system. I’m sure Johnson Controls would have some ideas around this. Time to think out of the box, or cable car, in this case.
