Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan today inaugurated exhibition on Lord Shiva and replica of twelve Jyotirlingas near Saintdas Udasin Ashram in Ujjain. Dr Mohan Bhagwat, Swami Balyogi Umesh Nathji Maharaj, Chairman of Simhastha Central Committee Makhan Singh, Energy Minister Paras Jain, Mayor Smt Meena Jonwal, MLA Dr Mohan Yadav and other public representatives were present with the chief minister.
Chief Minister Chouhan appreciated the replica during visit of the unique exhibition based on twelve Jyotirlingas. He said that the exhibition has fascinating and narrative description of Shaiva Darshan, Shaiva traditions and various forms of Lord Shiva.
Attractions of exhibition
‘Shaiva Kala Sangam’ exhibition based on Lord Shiva, has a detailed description of eternal forms of Lord Shiva. Detailed descriptions of different Shaiv Sampraday prevailing in ancient India, have been displayed in the exhibition. Shiva has promoted yoga and meditation.
On the basis of this, Shaiv, Pashupat, Nath and Lingayat sects of India have been displayed in the exhibition. Many aspects of nature which are related with Lord Shiva have been presented in the exhibition. The description of Aadidev Shankar has been associated with caves, mountains, rivers, animals, astronomy, forests, cremation grounds and flower-leaves.
Portraits of the twelve Jyotirlingas and ancient beliefs on them have been attractively displayed in the exhibition. They include south-faced Jyotirlinga Shri Mahakaleshwar, situated in the Prabhas region of Saurashtra Gujarat Shri Somnath, placed on Shrishail mountain on the banks of Krishna river in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh Sri Mallikarjuna, situated on Mandhata mountain on the Narmada river in the Khandwa district of Nimad region Shree Omkareshwar, situated in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand Kedarnath, situated on Sahyadri mount on the banks of Bheema river in east of Mumbai and north of Pune – Bhimashankar, situated in Kashi of Uttar Pradesh – Vishwanath, situated near bank of river Godavari near Brahmagiri of Nasik district of Maharashtra – Trimbakeshwar, located near Parli village of Parbhani of Maharashtra – Baidyanath Jyotirlinga, situated in Hingoli district of Maharashtra Nageshwar, situated in Ramnad district of Tamilnadu Rameshwaram and Ghushmeshwar Jyotirlingas.

Different sessions will be held between 9.30 and 11 am at four stages on the second day on January 6 in Shaiv Mahotsav at Ujjain. The second session will take place between 11.15 am and 1 pm.
