It looks like the woes of Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL users are to continue. A few days back, some users of the smartphones reported a connectivity flaw with mesh routers.

Now, some Pixel 2 XL users are complaining about a volume related flaw, which reduces the sound of audio clips sent via messaging apps including Instagram, Google Allo, and Telegram. Affected users have reported abut the issue on the Pixel User Community of the Google Product Forums. Basically when they send an audio clip recorded on the Pixel 2 XL, the recipient gets the same clip but with reduced volume.

The sound level on the receiving device can't be increased by taking up the volume level to maximum or by using headphones, reports Android Police.

"I experienced the unusually low volume for outgoing voice messages in WhatsApp on two Pixel 2 XL devices. The same behavior was observed with Google Allo voice messages," explained an affected Pixel 2 user on the Google Product Forums.

It should be noted that the issue doesn't impact the volume in phone call, which is relief. Moreover, the issue doesn't seem to be present on the Pixel 2's smaller sibling, the Pixel 2 or the first generation of Pixel devices.

It has been found that the issue with audio clips affects the Pixel 2 XL handsets running on Android 8.0 and Android 8.1 OS. As mentioned earlier, not all Pixel 2 XL owners are facing this problem.

The good news is Google has already acknowledged the issues and has started working on the fix. Community Manager Orrin Hancock assured the affected users that the search engine giant is aware of the issue and is looking into it.

"Want to let you all know that we are aware of this [issue], and looking into it. I might be reaching out for bug reports and other info privately," he said in response to user reports.

In December, users of Pixel 2 and the older Pixel devices reported issues with mesh routers. While Google usually pays attention to its users' complaints, it is high time that it looks into the matter more deeply.
