The Big Bang Theory may be history next year.
Speaking to reporters at the Television Critics Association winter press tour, star Johnny Galecki suggested the next scheduled season of TV's top-rated comedy could be the last.
"The only manner in which the cast has discussed wrapping [The Big Bang Theory] has been that we're all going to be very sad when that day comes," Galecki told reporters on Saturday, according to TVLine. "But I think at this point everyone's very comfortable with 12 seasons being a good time to go home and see our families."
The Big Bang Theory is currently in its eleventh season, and has been renewed for a twelfth. If Season 12 is the end, the BBT universe could live on through spin-off Young Sheldon, which was renewed earlier on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the Big Bang spin-off Young Sheldon isn't going anywhere, as it was renewed for a second season on Saturday.
Galecki was at TCA to promote Living Biblically, the upcoming CBS comedy he executive-produces.
