Live Scores, Match updates, Commentary: India vs South Africa, 1st Test, Day 2 at Cape Town
The much awaited India vs South Africa Test series finally got underway at Newlands, Cape Town. South Africa won the toss and bravely decided to bat first and were rocked by Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s three early strikes. India were right on top, but lost momentum as AB de Villiers and captain Faf du Plessis counterattacked and brought the home team back into the game. India bowled out Proteas for 286 with Kumar picking up 4/87.
In reply, India had a wobbly start and lost three wickets at stumps. South African bowlers bowled with full steam and dismissed the openers very cheaply. The big moment came when captain Virat Kohli got out for 5 against Morne Morkel. The second day will test the visitors resolve and it will boil down to India’s adaptability against a very good and disciplined attack.
