Around 3.2 million households in Bihar will be electrified under the Centre-sponsored Saubhagya scheme.
Earlier, these households were to be electrified under Bihar’s Har Ghar Bijli scheme, which is part of seven resolves of the state government launched by chief minister Nitish Kumar in November 2016.
The Rs 16,320-crore Saubhagya scheme was launched in September last year and the Centre had sought details from the states about the number of households that were bereft of power connection.
The Rural Electrification Corporation has been made the nodal agency for implementing the Saubhagya scheme and October 11, 2017, had been fixed as the cut-off date for electrification of households under this scheme. Read More…
