The Duchess sported a hearty dose of forest green while attending the Irish Guards’ St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Aldershot, England in 2013.
1. Her Style
She might be a duchess, but Kate is no stranger to the high street. And while many celebrities wouldn’t be caught dead in the same outfit twice, Kate loves fashion recycling.
2. She does her own shopping
When it comes to the weekly shop, Kate’s happy to ditch the glitz.
3. She’s educated
Kate has brains as well as beauty. Growing up, the duchess took education very seriously, achieving 11 GCSEs, three A-levels, and a 2:1 degree in History of Art from the University of St Andrews, where she met Prince William. She chose to pursue her career as a buyer for fashion retailer Jigsaw.
4. She’s family-orientated
Kate is close to her siblings and brother-in-law Harry, who refers to her as ‘the big sister [he] never had’. She’s a brilliant mum too, and doesn’t rely solely on nannies.
5. She’s down-to-earth
While the royal family is known for keeping schtum on personal matters, Kate didn’t shy away from telling the public that she suffered severe morning sickness during her pregnancies. She’s not too posh to push, either!
6. She has a great sense of humor
The duchess knows how to have a laugh, and is often pictured showing off her pearly whites while out performing royal duties. In their 2011 engagement video, William revealed how they make each other smile, saying, ‘She’s got a naughty sense of humour.’
7. She uses her influence wisely
Despite her many responsibilities, Kate still manages to give back to the less fortunate. In 2011, she helped establish The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry, which focuses on support of the Armed Forces, conservation and young people.
8. She does her own make-up
She may have access to the world’s best make-up artists, but Kate opts to DIY, even for her wedding!
Happy Birthday to the Duchess!
