The European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) is one of the highest ranked scientific research organisations in the world. The Headquarters Laboratory is located in Heidelberg (Germany), with additional sites in Barcelona (Spain), Grenoble (France), Hamburg (Germany), Hinxton near Cambridge (UK), Rome (Italy).Qualifications and Experience
The applicant should hold a university degree in a relevant field (Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Cell Biology, (Bio)Physics or (Bio)Engineering) and should have successfully completed her/his PhD studies (or expect the award of their degree soon). The applicant is expected to independently plan pursue the research project. Experience in at least one of the following areas will be an advantage: RNA-localization, mass spectrometry based proteomics and computational algorithms for the interpretation of large systems-wide data sets. Access to state of the art mass spectrometry equipment is available at EMBL. An initial contract of 2 years will be offered to the successful candidate but more long-term funding for an optional extension has been secured.
