KP1M brings cheer to underprivileged students nationwide

KEPALA BATAS: Putera 1Malaysia Club (KP1M) has brought cheer to underprivileged students nationwide through the 'Happy 2 School' (H2S) programme.

Its president, Datuk Seri Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim said 81,300 individuals benefited from the programme aimed at reducing the students' family burden for this year's school session.

He said distribution of the aid which involved an allocation of RM10 million began in December 2017 and would end in mid-January.

"The programme involves 78 parliamentary constituencies nationwide. Currently, 65,000 Year 1 to Year 6 students from 62 parliamentary constituencies have received school uniforms and school supplies through the H2S programme," he told reporters after launching the programme at the Kepala Batas parliamentary constituency.

A total of 1,000 students in the constituency received school aid in the event that was also attended by Kepala Batas Member of Parliament, Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican, who is also Deputy Foreign Minister.

Meanwhile, Reezal Merican commended the efforts of KP1M and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak in providing aid in various aspects including education to the constituency. — Bernama
