PEORIA — When his girlfriend moved out, a Peoria County man called police to collect drug paraphernalia she had left behind, police said.

On New Year's Day, a 37-year-old man called the Peoria County Sheriff's Department regarding his ex-girlfriend, who recently had left the house they had shared, according to a police report. He said he was cleaning the home when he found a pipe she had used to smoke marijuana, along with a pouch and small tools she had used with cocaine or methamphetamine, the report stated.

A deputy tested at least one of the items for the presence of cocaine, with negative results. Still, the items were collected and entered into evidence at the sheriff's office, to eventually be destroyed.
