Roberto Firmino and Mason Holgate scrap in Merseyside derby – Shocking pics of incident
ROBERTO FIRMINO and Mason Holgate were involved in a heated bust-up during Liverpool and Everton's FA Cup third round clash at Anfield.
Firmino and Holgate came together in an ugly incident just before half-time in the FA Cup tie at Anfield.
The Everton defender triggered the scrap by pushing Firmino into the crowd while chasing a pass, with the Brazilian ending up over the safety rail.
Firmino then charged back onto the pitch and squared up to Holgate, with the duo separated by referee Bobby Madley.
Holgate, who had previously looked calm during the altercation, suddenly reacted angrily and caused both sets of players to become involved in the scuffle.
Fans have speculated that Firmino said something inflammatory in order to cause such a reaction from the 21-year-old.
