Netflix's untitled Sabrina the Teenage Witch series has found its lead actress.
TV Guide has learned that Mad Men alum Kiernan Shipka will play Sabrina Spellman in the upcoming Riverdale spin-off. Her character is described as an "empowered young woman, half-human, half-witch" who is also "intelligent, compassionate and brave to the point of recklessness."
As she undergoes her dark training as a sorceress, she'll also try to maintain a normal life as a sophomore at Baxter High. However, that will be easier said than done since she's all that stands in the way of the dark forces threatening the human world.
The untitled project, which is based on The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina comics, was originally developed at The CW before moving over to Netflix. Showing great faith in the series, Netflix has already given a two-season order, totaling 20 episodes.

Shipka recently appeared opposite Susan Sarandon and Jessica Lange in Feud: Bette and Joan as Bette Davis' teen daughter B.D. She is best known for playing Sally Draper on AMC's Mad Men.
