A rashly driven car hit two girls waiting for the arrival of their school bus at in Bairagarh under Bairagarh police station on Thursday. One of the girls died on the spot while the other is undergoing treatment.
Garima Shivdasani and Stuti Sengar, both aged 11, were waiting for their school bus when the incident occurred this morning. Garima died in the mishap. Stuti is admitted to a private hospital in serious condition. The driver identified as Kanhaiya Devani has been arrested.
A big crowd gathered after the accident and the car driver was thrashed and handed over to the police. The people damaged the car. According to the police, both the girls were standing near the Yadav Restaurant for going to the school. A rashly driven I-10 car MP 04 CJ 9856 hit both the girls.
Garima Shivdasani, daughter of Anil Shivdasani, resident of Moon Residency, Bairagarh, died in the accident. Deceased was a student of Class-6.
Her friend Stuti Sengar, daughter of Mukesh Singh Sengar, resident of House No. 7, Kailash Nagar, Bairagarh, was injured in the accident. Stuti is student of Class-5 and is undergoing treatment at a private hospital. Her condition is reported to be stable.
Pall of gloom descends on Garima’s house & colony
Garima’s father Anil, mother Muskan and other family members were inconsolable after her death. Her neighbours and residents of the colony were also in state of shock.
Garima’s neighbours said her father loved her very much. He fulfilled all her wishes. She was also very good at studies. Her family members said she was lovingly called Gungun at home.
Younger brother unaware of tragedy
Garima’s younger brother Nakul is only three-years-old. He has just started going to school. Garima loved Nakul very much. After returning from school both played together. But Nakul doesn’t know that her sister is no more. After returning from school he kept asking his father where Didi (elder sister) was.
Stuti, Garima were fast friends
Deceased Garima’s friend Stuti, who was injured in the accident, is recovering fast. She is just 11. She and Garima used to go to school together and in the school they used to have lunch together. They used to play a lot together and were fast friends. But the tragic accident has snatched her friend from Stuti forever.
Driver was learning to drive car
Accused driver has told police that he had purchased the car from someone only a few days back and the car had not yet been transferred in his name. He was learning to drive the car and had got learning (L) written on the car.
He said by mistake he pressed the accelerator instead of the brake due to which the car became out of control resulting in the accident.
