A winter storm blasting the U.S. Northeast disrupted flights into and out of Southwest Florida on Friday for a second day.
Cancellations were predominately limited to the Boston area and New York region, according to airport websites.
Sarasota Bradenton International Airport flights to and from John F. Kennedy International Airport and Boston on JetBlue and to White Plains, New York, on Elite Airways were canceled by mid morning. Updates are available at srq-airport.com
At Tampa International Airport, morning JetBlue flights had been canceled to John F. Kennedy International Airport, Boston and Newark. Delta and Spirit also had canceled a flight to JFK and Boston, respectively. Punta Gorda Airport, with its lone carrier Allegiant Air, hadn’t canceled any flights as of 10 a.m. but had a few delays on its Friday flight schedule. Updates are available at flypgd.com/flights
Allegiant had issued a travel alert for several Punta Gorda destinations: Allentown, Harrisburg and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Providence, Rhode Island; Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina; Rochester and Stewart, New York; and South Bend, Indiana.
