UPDATE ONE - Friday 7.39pm GMT: Fortnite fans have again reported issues with the popular online game, with Battle Royale fans seeing waiting in queue errors for the second day in a row.

Independent website Down Detector has registered hundreds of reports of Fortnite issues this evening.

The server problems have occured after Epic Games set the new Sneaky Silencer Limited Time Mode live.

Fans have taken to Twitter to report issues with Fortnite today, while one fan tweeting: "What is this fortnite l been waiting a long time to just play".

Another wrote: "Im waiting 5 minutes in the queue just for them to tell me that i cant log in. fortnite, please fix up @FortniteGame #Fortnite".

And one added: "@FortniteGame Unable to join the fortnite waiting queue".

The official Fortnite Twitter account have confirmed there are issues, and said they are looking into it.

They tweeted: "We acknowledge that players currently cannot login to Fortnite and are running into an error message. We've got the team looking into this now."

ORIGINAL - Thursday 9.30pm GMT: Fortnite Waiting in queue errors have been hitting players tonight, affecting Battle Royale fans trying to join games.

The issues were first spotted around an hour ago, with developers Epic Games confirming issues with the game servers.

“Why can't I log into Fortnite? We'll let you know soon, the team is investigating now,” the official Fortnite Twitter account confirmed. 

“For the time being we have enabled a waiting room as we work through the issue.”

Players are reporting that the Waiting in queue message has been enabled for the past hour, with no update on when the problems might be over.

One fan confirmed: “Servers down for me and when I tried to reset my password (could be me who forgotten which I used...) it said "Sorry, you are visiting our service too frequent, please try again later." Anyone else having this issue?”

Another added: “Mine says "Matchmaking service error" does somebody knows why?”

A new update on the situation surrounding Fortnite servers is expected soon.

Fortnite Battle Royale players will soon be able to take part in the Sneaky Silencer Limited Time Mode on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Epic Games revealed the big Fortnite Battle Royale update at the start of 2018 on New Year’s Day.

It introduced the new Silenced Pistol weapon to Fortnite Battle Royale servers on Tuesday.

And the weapon will play a major part in the new mode heading to Fortnite Battle Royale tomorrow (Friday January 5 2018).

Epic Games went into more detail about Fortnite Battle Royale’s new weapon and mode in a blog post.

They said the silenced pistol weapon can be found as an Epic and Legendary rarity.

It can also be found in treasure chests, supply drops or as floor loot.

The official post also gave details about the Sneaky Silencer Limited Time Mode, which will run from January 5 to January 8.
