LEIPSIC — Richard L. Martz, 76, of Leipsic died at 5:41 p.m. Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at the Putnam County Ambulatory Care Center, Glandorf. He was born February 24, 1941 in Nappanee, IN. to the late Ivan and Mildred (Stouder) Martz. On August 22, 1990 he married Kathleen Crichet who survives in Leipsic.
He is also survived by three children, Shelly (Todd) Graverson of Bremen, IN, Kirk (Laurie) Martz of Bremen, IN, and Ryan Martz of Mishawaka, IN; six grandchildren, Samantha (Brad) Willsey, Tricia Graverson, Shayna Graverson, Anthony (Janay) Martz, Nicholas Martz, and Brady Martz; four great-grandchildren, Millie Cripe, Kale Martz, Hazel Martz, and Winsday Martz; a sister, Sandra Martz of Mishawaka, IN; and three brothers, Gary (Lavona) Martz of Nappanee, IN, Dennis (Melody) Martz and Ron (Nancy) Martz both of Elkhart, IN; in-laws, Carol Allen, Bob Crichet, Christina Bauer, Jack Crichet, and Cyndi Lake; and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Ivan, Jr. and two sisters, Carolyn Weber and Marilyn Hamilton.
Richard worked for Williams Brothers Construction in Houston, TX and for the street department in Leipsic. He was a member of the First Christian Church, Leipsic.
Burial will be in Sugar Ridge Cemetery, Leipsic.
