Golden Globes, “X-Files” returns, “The Chi” premieres

The Golden Globe Awards are seen as a preview to the Oscars in March, with the Hollywood foreign press naming their favorites this 75th year at 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 7, on NBC. Contenders include best actress nominee Margot Robbie in “I, Tonya,” which opens this weekend (see related story).

• When we last saw spooky FBI investigators Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, they were searching for their son. • “The End of the F***ing World,” a darkly comical UK series about a teen psychopath and his rebel girlfriend, premieres Friday, Jan. 5, on Netflix.

• Samantha Brown’s new PBS travel series, “Places to Love,” launches Saturday on PBS stations with 13 weekly episodes through March. Featured destinations are places Brown says you might not think of going “but should,” like Huntsville, Ala., nicknamed Rocket City for its work with the space industry. Check local listings.
