When Michael Garbutt came back from a walk he was lucky to be warned about the lurking danger from a passing good samaritan.
A note left on his windscreen said: “Hi this afternoon a red Belly slithered up into your front left tyre.
“Please be careful.”
Opening his car bonnet he then found the slithery creature curled up beside the engine.

But despite the warning, he was still surprised to find the red-bellied black snake there.
Mr Garbutt from Sydney’s Sutherland Shire, said: “I just went for a walk and came back to my car and there was the note and naturally as you can imagine it was a bit of a concern for me.
“I thought I need to find this thing before I take off.
“I looked under the bonnet and there it was.”

Snakes wearing hats...no seriously, they are

He found the snake after coming back from a walk on December 28 – although it was tricky to spot at first.
He said: “I didn’t actually notice it at first as it was pretty-much camouflaged.
“When I did see it, I thought this is a bit of a worry and I need to figure out how to get this thing away from my car.”
Not knowing what else to do Mr Garbutt called for the help of a professional a snake catcher.
It took over an hour to remove the deadly snake from the vehicle but Mr Garbutt added: “At least I got it before it got to me”.
