Has Aishwarya Rai Bachchan hiked her fee to Rs 10 crore for Raat Aur Din?

Mumbai: Actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will soon be seen in Fanne Khan and Raat Aur Din. And, latest reports suggest that the former Miss World has hiked her fee to Rs 10 crore for the latter.

A source revealed to Mid-Day, “The makers have discussed the tribute film with Sanjay. Since Aishwarya has wrapped up her parts for Fanne Khan, she will start prepping for the film soon. Though trade insiders are squirming at the possibility of a 44-year-old female actor walking home with a fat pay cheque, producer Prernaa Arora believes that Ash is putting a lot at stake for her film, and the fee is warranted.”

The film Raat Aur Din is helmed by Satyen Bose. This 1969 black-and-white classic with astonishing songs sung by Lata Mangeshkar featured Nargis as a woman with a split personality. For portraying two different personalities in one character, Nargis had won the National award for Best Actress.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is playing the role of Nargis in Raat Aur Din remake and Prerna Aroraa says this would be the biggest challenge of her career. Prerna Aroraa said in earlier interview, “It’s too early to talk about this project. But yes, I’d like to say it would be a tremendous challenge for Aishwarya to play a role for which Nargisji is remembered to this day. Let’s not forget, Raat Aur Din was Nargisji’s swan song. She never returned to acting after this film. Her fans still remember her in this film. It’s her most iconic role after Mother India. And I’m proud to be associated with this film.”

On the work front, Aishwarya is currently filming Fanne Khan, which also stars Rajkummar Rao.

Fanne Khan is slated to hit theatre on June 15, 2018.
