The FA have asked Arsene Wenger to explain his latest comments towards referees

Wenger is already fighting one FA charge this week for comments he made to Mike Dean in his room after he awarded West Brom a controversial late penalty for handball on Sunday.

Now he could be charged again after suggesting there is a conspiracy against his team and blasting referee Anthony Taylor for awarding a “farcical” penalty in Wednesday’s 2-2 draw with Chelsea.

The Frenchman has until 6pm on Tuesday to respond.

Wenger said before the game against Chelsea: “I must say what is more frustrating for me is that it happened many times this season - at Stoke, at Watford, at Manchester City, at West Brom. That is a concerning coincidence for me.”

Asked afterwards if he would contest the first charge, Wenger said: “100 per cent. I stick to everything I said without any problem.”

The Gunners have confirmed the signing of Greek defender Konstantinos Mavropanos, 20, from PAS Giannina.
