| Jan 6, 2018, 03:58 IST
Panaji: Regretting the ignorance surrounding the Opinion Poll, Goa Forward Party (GFP) demanded that the education department include a chapter on the same in school curriculum. GFP president Vijai Sardesai said that to mark 50 years of the historic referendum, a road in Fatorda constituency would be dedicated to those who fought to keep Goa out of Maharashtra.

"The history of modern Goa does not end with Liberation. According to me, it continues till Goa became a state and Konkani received recognition as the state language," Sardesai said.

Sardesai proposed to install a statue of Jack de Sequeira in the assembly complex and also suggested the creation of a Liberation memorial for the state.
