GREENFIELD — Franklin County Continuing the Political Revolution will host a forum featuring the three candidates vying for the Democratic gubernatorial nomination on Saturday.

Jay Gonzalez, Bob Massie, and Setti Warren will speak about their campaigns and answer questions from the audience. The event will take place at Greenfield Middle School, 195 Federal St., from 4 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 6. Doors open at 3:30 p.m.

“There are more Democrats than Republicans in Massachusetts, yet we have mostly elected Republican governors in recent years. I hope the candidates can demonstrate how they can increase voter turnout among young people and people of color the way Doug Jones did in Alabama,” said Ferd Wulkan of the FCCPR Coordinating Committee.

Sheila Gilmour, also on the FCCPR Coordinating Committee added, “Given the chaos, dysfunction and favoritism toward the wealthy coming out of Washington, it is more important than ever that we have true progressives elected at the local and state levels. Please get involved by coming to this event to learn about these candidates.”

The Democratic town committees of Ashfield, Colrain, Erving, Greenfield, Leyden, Montague, New Salem, Shelburne, Shutesbury and Sunderland, as well as Indivisible Noho and Our Revolution Massachusetts, are co-sponsoring this event.

FCCPR is a local grassroots organization committed to progressive ideals. It supports candidates who embrace their shared values, but the group has not yet endorsed a candidate in the gubernatorial race in Massachusetts.

At some point after the event, FCCPR members will vote to see if the organization will endorse any of these candidates.
