Antonio Conte is hoping the bumper pay offer will convince the Chile star to leave Bayern Munich.

The two clubs are reportedly in negotiations over a transfer fee.

The Sun claim that Chelsea are preparing an opening offer of £33m.

But the German champions are holding out for a figure closer to £53m.

Conte has spoken about Vidal, 30, in glowing terms in recent weeks.

He said the midfielder was a player he would choose to go to war with.

And reports from ITASportPress about the huge wage offer seem to confirm his strong interest in the star.

Various journalists have confirmed that both clubs are interested in reaching an agreement.

The 97-cap Chile legend has just 18 months left on the four-year deal he signed to join the German champions in 2015.

But the deal could depend on Bayern signing playmaker Leon Goretzka from Schalke as Vidal's replacement.

Vidal has also won the Copa America and German title twice.

But he will miss out on Russia 2018 after Chile failed to qualify.
