Barnett proposes action for legislators

Gubernatorial candidate Jim Barnett, R-Topeka, proposed actions the Kansas Legislature should take during 2018.

He urged they: fully fund career technical education; add funding for K-12 schools by targeting an addition $600 million over coming years; make changes to the law and regulations to allow state funding formulas to meet the test of equity to school districts in the future; expand Medicaid; and begin to study and develop a new comprehensive transportation program, with funding to be passed in 2019.

The Legislature should take the lead in combatting sexual harassment, he also said.
