Inter Milan not in for Mkhitaryan
07.30: Inter Milan boss Luciano Spalletti has ruled out a January move for Manchester United forward Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
Mkhitaryan has been linked with a January move away from Manchester United after falling out of favour with Jose Mourinho.
Inter Milan and Borussia Dortmund have both been linked with moves for the Armenia international this month.
But it seems the German club are in pole position to re-sign Mkhitaryan after Inter boss Luciano Spalletti claimed his side could not afford him.
"To keep saying we need to have a big transfer campaign, after the club has made it clear there are certain parameters to be respected, seems to me the best way to get hurt," Spalletti said ahead of Friday’s trip to Fiorentina.
"You can say names — Mkhitaryan, [Javier] Pastore, [Simone] Verdi. But they'd cost €30million [£26m] and we don't have that!”
Mourinho aims dig at Chelsea and Liverpool
07.00: Jose Mourinho has laughed off claims he has lost his passion for management - and taken a swipe at Jurgen Klopp and Antonio Conte in the process.
His comments will no doubt strike a nerve in west London and on Merseyside as Mourinho continued his war of words with his rivals.
“Because I don’t behave as a clown on the touchline it means I lost my passion?,” Mourinho said.
“I prefer to behave the way I am doing it, much more mature, better for my team and myself.
“You don’t have to behave like a crazy guy on the touchline to have that passion.
“That passion you see it every day.”
Derby preview
06.30: Jose Mourinho has confirmed that he will play a strong team against Derby in the FA Cup this evening (8pm).
Argentine goalkeeper Romeo will also be given a run out for the Red Devils.
“I’m going to do the same against Derby County; I’m going to play with a good team, then the result is out of your control but to go with a strong team with first team players for sure,” Mourinho said.
“I’m going to play this match like a Premier League match and it’s going to play Romero because Romero is a top, top goalkeeper and he deserves to play and David deserves a rest.
“Romero is going to be Argentina’s goalkeeper in the World Cup in a few months, so for all that Romero means to us Romero plays and apart from that I am going to play with a team I consider a very strong team.”
