Chelsea are set to finally complete a move for Everton star Ross Barkley today.

The Daily Mail say the Blues, who nearly signed Barkley in the summer, will pay around £15m for the England international.

They add that Barkley, 24, was in London yesterday to discuss a move and Chelsea are ready to push through the deal as soon as possible.

The attacking midfielder, who is yet to play for the Toffees this season, has just six months remaining on his current Everton contract.

Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata says Real Madrid will suffer if Barcelona sign Philippe Coutinho.

Barca are expected to complete the signing of the Liverpool star this month.

And according to Spanish news outlet Diario Gol, Morata has sent a warning message to Real.

The Spain international has told Real president Florentino Perez that Real will fall behind Barca if they sign Coutinho.

Morata, who left Real in the summer in a £70m move to Stamford Bridge, is a huge admirer of the Liverpool playmaker and he knows the Brazilian will improve Barca.

Thibaut Courtois says he’s close to signing a new deal at Chelsea.

The Belgium international has been linked with a move to Real Madrid in recent months but the goalkeeper says he’s happy in west London.

Courtois said: “It has just turned the new year, so we will wait a few weeks and then sit around the table.

“I’m happy at Chelsea and a deal is close. Has it been a distraction? Not for me.

“I’m just calm and relaxed because I’m tied to Chelsea. Despite the rumours and everything, I am focused on Chelsea and I’m happy here.

“Do Eden and I encourage each other to sign? Yes. He will say ‘if you sign, I will sign’ and I say the same to him!”
