Woman held for cheating Malaysian film director, actor
PETALING JAYA: A woman who allegedly pretended to be a travel agent and cheated local actor Den Wahab and film director Aziz M. Osman over a holiday package in South Korea last December, has been remanded for two days, beginning today.
The remand order was issued by Petaling Jaya Magistrate's Court assistant registrar Hairul Azhar Mohd Ishak.
The 36-year-old suspect was detained after she surrendered herself at the Criminal Investigation Department of the Petaling Jaya Police Headquarters here, at 3pm yesterday.
The media previously reported that Den Wahab and Aziz lodged a police report claiming to have been duped by the woman over a family holiday package in South Korea from Dec 24 to 28.
The trip involving 22 family members was disrupted when one of them discovered on the third day that their accommodation had not been paid for by the agent.
Den Wahab, 54, whose real name is Zaharudin Abd Wahab, 54, said he lodged a police report at the Mutiara Damansara Police Station here after incurring losses of RM90,000 for the trip. — Bernama
