WINTERSET — Donald "Donnie" DeWitt Pyle, 76, of Winterset, died Thursday (January 4, 2018) at his home.
He was born Jan. 17, 1941 in St. Clairsville, son of the late J. Duane Pyle and Dorothy M. (McBride) Pyle.
Donnie retired from the former March Electric, where he had been a purchasing agent for many years. After his retirement, he worked at Orme Do It Best Hardware in Cambridge.
He was a part of the last graduating class of Belmont High School in 1959.
Donnie was a former member of the Cambridge Eagles Aerie 386 and a current member of the Belmont Better Hunting & Fishing Club. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting, and camping. He enjoyed building birdhouses and bird feeders.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, David D. Pyle.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Jackson) Pyle, whom he married June 6, 1987; four daughters, Sherry (Christopher) Bracken-Todd of Zanesville, Kim (Bobby) Kennedy of Cambridge, Debby (Chris) Warden of Plain City, and Melinda (Brad) Philips of Twinsburg; a brother, Dennis K. Pyle of Delaware; a sister, Diane (Larry) Fraliex of Bradenton FL; eight grandchildren, Ryan Bracken of Zanesville, Devoni Bracken of Zanesville, Chase Bracken of Zanesville, Brittnee (Ryan) Hanifin of Jacksonville NC, Paige Warden of Plain City, Jacob Warden of Plain City, Jaiden Kennedy of Cambridge, and Jackson Philips of Twinsburg; two great-grandchildren, Jackson Bracken of Zanesville and Sabra White of Zanesville; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many good friends.
Visitation will be Sunday, Jan. 7, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will be Monday, Jan. 8, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Mark Slay officiating.
Burial will be at the Antrim Presbyterian Cemetery.
