Indore: Declaring Indian Diaspora will be made partner in growth of state, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced host of facilities for NRIs on the concluding day of two-day ‘Friends of MP’ (FoMP) Conclave, held here on Thursday.

According to the CM, a dedicated NRI cell and talent pool to be set up in the state and while chalking out ‘Vision 2022’ FoMP would also be tapped into the endeavour. A portal on FoMP will also be created through which state government and FoMP both can stay connected.

The event saw a grand success as more than 513 illustrious non-resident Indians staying abroad in 23 countries attended the conclave and shared their views and suggestions towards the development of the state.  Delivering the key note valedictory address CM Chouhan announced multiple facilities for NRIs. “A NRI cell will be set up, which would help addressing their problems,” the CM declared. He also said that the FoMP Conclave will be organised every year in state. The next Conclave will be held on January 4 and 5 in 2019 in the city.

In order to ensure successful organisation of the FoMP the CM also appointed two of his most trusted officers as nodal person– principal secretary, industry, Mohammad Suleman and principal secretary to CM and public relation department SK Mishra to look after the affair. While introducing both the officers he also shared their mobile numbers with the NRIs for further communication in the regard.
Earlier in the day, while inaugurating the conclave the CM briefed about some flagship schemes of the state. As many as seven NRIs were also felicitated on the occasion.

No potholes on road: CS

Chief secretary (CS) BP Singh presented a report card of growth achieved in last 10 years at the inaugural ceremony. He explained all the major milestones touched by the state in last one decade. Lady NRI loses purse

Despite full of positive outcomes, the conclave came across a shameful incident, as a lady NRI complained about her purse being stolen at the venue, which was kept on her seat close to the CM’s wife. Purnima Baria, a resident of Denver, Colorado, USA, alleged that she had gome to meet the CM on stage leaving her purse behind on the sofa on which wife of the CM too was sitting and after return, found the purse was missing.
