KEWANEE –– The Boilermakers picked up six wins by fall, en route to a 54-25 win over Eureka Thursday night.
The meet began in the heavyweight division, with Kewanee’s Nathan Thumma grabbing a pin.
Eureka got a forfeit at 106 pounds, before the Boilers reeled off three straight victories to take a 24-6 lead. Kaden Peterson at 113 and Alex VanDeVoorde at 126 earned pins; Jorge Ramirez was sandwiched in between with a forfeit win at 120.
Eureka drew within 24-18 thanks to back-to-back pins at 132 and 138.
Christan Carder righted the ship for Kewanee with a pin at 145. Jessica Duarte followed with a forfeit win and 152 and Lewis Robinson earned a win by fall at 160. Robinson is now 19-0 on the year.
Michael Hall added another pin for the Boilers at 182 pounds and Carlos Vargas picked up a forfeit at 195 pounds.
The Boilers return to action tonight as they hit the road to face St. Bede and Erie.
