Maypearl Police are now investigating an early morning shooting that left one man dead as a homicide. The shooter, who is believed to be someone known by the victim, is still at-large.
Police officers were dispatched Tuesday at 12:50 a.m. to the 100 block of Creekview Circle in Maypearl.
“We got a call of a shooting out here,” Maypearl Police Chief Boyd Norton said. “We came out here and have a deceased male. We are currently working the crime scene.”

“We are working to develop information and we do not have an active suspect right now. We are still trying to run down a lot of stuff,” Norton stated. “This is still very young into what we are doing and we are not to a point to where we have a lot of information that we want to release right now.”
Norton added that police do not believe the suspect to be stranger to the family.
Norton stated the name of the victim is being withheld by investigators at this time and no other information is available.
