Coronation Street cast show support for Bruno Langley – despite sexual assault conviction

SOME of Coronation Street's most popular stars have rallied round disgraced actor Bruno Langley.

CONVICTED: Bruno admitted to two counts of sexual assault last month

Beverley Callard, who plays Liz McDonald on the show showed her support for , who played Todd Grimshaw on the show, on Twitter.

Her fellow former member, Claire King, who played, Erica Holroyd also gave her backing.

Things began when Bruno, who admitted two counts of sexual assault in court last month, took to his Twitter account to wish fans a Merry Christmas.

He told his 44,800 followers: "I Hope everyone had a nice Christmas, and I wish you all the very best for the very impending 2018."

Beverley, 60, wrote: "Happy new year to you, darling! So much love!"

An account, which claims to be that of Casualty actor Tom Chambers, replied: "Bev. He's a good friend of mine. It's nice to see your still his friend too."

She replied: "Without doubt! Much love."

When another fan replied to Beverley saying: "We need Bruno back at Coronation Street. He is so loved by so many," the Tom Chambers account replied: "He's a good friend of mine. If he can't get back to Corrie I'm going to try and get him a part in Casualty alongside me. No one would bother him there."

Claire, 54, also replied to Bruno's original message saying: "You too hun."

Meanwhile, Hollyoaks cast member Ayden Callaghan, who plays Joe Roscoe on the show, added: "Happy new year pal x."

Bruno is now serving a 12-month community order involving a curfew and electronic tag.

He was sacked by Coronation Street bosses after admitting the sexual assaults.
